About

Born in Texas in 1949, I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where I
attended Olmos Elementary, Nimitz Junior High, and Robert E. Lee High
School. I graduated from the University of Utah with a BS degree in Political Science and I also hold a Master of Science degree in the Analysis of Strategic Intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College in Washington, D.C.

I served in the U.S. military for 20 years, with 7 of that as an enlisted member working as an operating room technician, and 13 years
as a commissioned officer in Military Intelligence. I started in the military as an E-1, the lowest enlisted rank, and “graduated” with the rank of Regular Army Major.

I retired from the military in 1994 in Anchorage, Alaska, and worked for a short time in the private sector before going to work for the State of Alaska in several management positions. I retired from state service in 2010.

I met the love of my life, Pamela, in Heidelberg, Germany, and we have
been married for 35 years. We have seven great sons, and 9 wonderful grandchildren.  We currently split our time between homes in Anchorage, Alaska, and Mapleton, Utah.
